Year 5 News 01.05.26

In English, we have explored the skills used with a bargain letter. We have written a persuasive paragraph and plannned our writing for next week. In maths, we have continued to learn about fractions. Our focus has been on multiplying fractions. We have learnt about multiplying proper and mixed number fractions. To end our week, we have also learnt about representing tenths and hundredth fractions as decimals. 

Our wow moment this week has been PE, In our PE lessons on a Friday, we have been learning the skills of rounders. This week, we focused on understanding the rules of a game. We played 'throwing rounders' to understand the rules. We learnt about 'no balls', how to score a point, how to get someone out and how to play tactically. We really enjoyed our time outside and ended with a full game involving batting and fielding!

We also enjoyed a fantastic lesson of Science learning about the size and order of the planets by using fruit!

Throughout the week, we have also enjoyed our another PE lesson, music, Heartsmart, Computing, DT, Art and RE.

Maths.co.uk homework has been set for this week.
