Year 4 News of the Week – 18.9.26
This week has flown by and we have packed so much into it. You have worked hard in so many different areas of your learning, and I am proud of you all.
We have:
continued to learn about Place Value in Maths and we have used an online AI programme called Magma Maths during our learning too. We have also spent some time practising our times tables by playing on TT Rock Stars.
found out about Viking life in our book club lessons
been learning about the or sound in spellings by using au and augh patterns
enjoyed using our Manfred the Baddie story to write letters and diaries and we have also been introduced to our new story William and the Missing Masterpiece
taken part in two PE lessons and a music lesson
thought about our families in French
enjoyed our computing lesson
considered the push and pull factors to help us to understand why the Vikings travelled to Britain
completed a PSHE and Wellbeing lesson
been introduced to Fitzroy First who lives on Friendship Terrace, and we have used his story to think about how he can become a friendship builder
I think our standout moment this week in Year 4 was our Science lesson as we headed outside to collect leaves to understand our first branching key in classification. We used our collected leaves to list observable features and then played a yes and no game to create a class branching key. Well done Year 4. You completed the key with success.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
