[Dear Parents and Carers,Here is a short snapshot of just some of the amazing things  we have been learning this week.

In maths, we have successfully concluded our unit on money. The children have worked hard to develop their understanding of value, calculation, and real-life applications involving money.

In English, we put our writing skills to meaningful use by composing a letter to our local MP, Aphra Brandreth. In our letters, we explained the steps we have been taking to reduce rubbish and pollution, and we requested further support by politely requesting for more bins to be installed around Wybunbury Moss to help protect our local environment.

On 22nd April, we marked National Earth Day. Linking this to our focus on courageous advocacy, the children designed and created posters to display on bins around the school, encouraging others to dispose of rubbish responsibly and care for our environment.

During this week's art lesson, we began exploring charcoal as a medium. We studied the work of artists Laura McKendry and Edgar Degas, discussing our observations and sharing thoughtful opinions about their techniques and styles.

In history, we learned about the importance of the River Nile to the Ancient Egyptians. The children explored how the invention of the shaduf supported farming and contributed to the success of their civilisation.

For computing, we applied our knowledge from the sequencing sounds unit to create our own digital pianos on Scratch. The children coded sequences using event tiles and sound blocks so that pressing keys on the keyboard would produce musical notes—an engaging way to combine creativity with programming skills.

In RE, we discussed why the cross can be seen as a symbol of both sadness and joy. The children shared their ideas respectfully and created artwork to reflect their understanding.

We concluded the week with our final summer worship. It has been a very busy but fabulous week and the children have shown great enthusiasm across all subjects.

I always feel extremely proud to be Year 3’s teacher as they give 100% to everything that they do!Thank you for your continued support.

Enjoy the weekend and the sunshine!

Kind regards,
Mrs Roney.
