This week has been full of brilliant learning and lots of enthusiasm from the children.

English We continued our work on Mr Pusskins — and what a week he has had! After running away, the children wrote letters to Emily explaining all the naughty things he was getting up to with the Pesky Gang. Later in the week, the weather changed and Mr Pusskins began to miss Emily. The children loved the happy ending when they were reunited and he finally learnt his lesson. To finish, we wrote a news report all about his wild adventures.

Maths We have been adding and subtracting 10 and 100, using our understanding of place value to help us. The children used concrete resources confidently and showed great reasoning when explaining how the digits change.

RE We continued our learning about Harvest, thinking about why we celebrate it and how it links to the fruits of the Spirit such as kindness, love and generosity.

PE A really fun session with Coach Beth this week — the children tried golf and took part in three activities including putting and a driving€'range style challenge. Lots of smiles and great teamwork.

Science We continued learning about rocks and explored erosion — what causes it, how wind and water can wear rocks down over time, and why this changes the landscape. The children enjoyed investigating how different rocks respond to weathering.

History We learnt about Emperor Claudius and why he wanted to attempt an invasion of Britain — from gaining power and land to controlling important trade routes. The children asked thoughtful questions and made links to our earlier timeline work.

We also enjoyed music, PSHE and computing throughout the week.

Have a lovely weekend.

Mrs Wainwright.
