Year 2 News 9.10.26

In our learning this week, we have enjoyed writing our own journey narrative. We carefully wrote a paragraph each day incorporating a focused writing skill. We are very proud of them.

In Maths this week, we have learnt about counting in 2s and in 5s. We have used 100 squares to find patterns and developed our confidence by completing a range of different activities.

Our spelling focus has been the sound /j/ often spelt with g before e, i and y and the sound /j/ always spelt with ’j’ before a, o and u. 

Our wow moment this week has to be our art lesson. We took our learning outside and enjoyed making use of our forest school shed. Whilst being surrounded by nature, we created observational drawings of leaves and feely drawings by holding a stick and carefully considering its shape and form. As part of our observational drawings, we also had the challenge of drawing whilst our pencil or pen was covered meaning we had to think very carefully about what we were trying to create on the page.

We have also enjoyed lessons in RE, computing, wellbeing, PSHE, Music and PE.
