What a busy and brilliant week we’ve had!

The children have continued to impress me with their enthusiasm, creativity and teamwork. It has been lovely to see them growing in confidence as we settle further into our routines.

In English, we began drafting our own versions of Stay, but with a twist — the children changed the naughty dog into a different animal of their choice. They designed their new pet and main character, and it has been wonderful to see their imaginations come to life as they planned their stories.

In Maths, we continued our work on shape, moving on to 3D shapes and their properties. The children particularly enjoyed creating their own 3D shapes using matchsticks and playdough, a handsâ€'on activity that really helped them understand edges, faces and vertices.

In Science, we checked on our plant experiment. The pot with everything it needed has just begun to grow a tiny green shoot, while the others have shown no changes yet. The children were fascinated by this and made some brilliant predictions. We were lucky that the sun was shining, so we were able to plant our individual seeds out in the garden.

In History, we continued learning about the Great Fire of Nantwich. This week we explored what life was like in a Tudor town, discovering that Nantwich would not have been a very pleasant place to live — it was noisy, crowded and rather smelly! The children were fascinated (and slightly horrified!) by what they found out.

In DT, we began investigating different ways of creating linkages for our upcoming moving monster project. The children experimented with simple mechanisms and explored how movement can be created through levers and joins — a great start to our design work.

In Computing, we had lots of fun using Chrome Music Lab. The children explored pulse and rhythm, experimenting with patterns and sounds to create their own musical sequences. There was plenty of excitement and creativity in the room.

Our bingo board homework has also gone home this week — I hope the children enjoy choosing their activities.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the sunshine.
