What a wonderful first week we have had together! It has been an absolute joy to begin my role as your class teacher this week. I have loved every moment so far, I am incredibly proud of your hard work, behaviour and the fun we have already shared together.

In English this week, we were surprised to discover a dog lead, collar and chew toy in our classroom… but no dog! This mystery led us to our new story, Stay by Alex Latimer, about a very naughty dog named Buster. The children thoroughly enjoyed listening to his antics and sharing their ideas. We also began focusing on using conjunctions and commas in our writing.

In Maths, we have been learning about 2D shapes and their properties. The children have been identifying shapes and describing their features with increasing confidence.

In PE, we started our new unit on rounders, with a focus on developing our throwing and catching skills. The children showed great enthusiasm and teamwork.

In Science, we began our topic on plants. We explored what plants need to stay healthy and have set up an experiment to investigate this further. The children are very excited to observe the changes over time!

We also had a visit from DC Andrew Kevan and Cyber Sid, who spoke to us about staying safe when playing games online. This was his third visit to our school, and as always, it was engaging and informative.

In History, we introduced our new topic on the Fire of Nantwich, and the children are already curious to learn more about this important local event.

It has truly been a fantastic start to the term—thank you for your continued support. I hope you all have a lovely weekend, and I look forward to another great week ahead.
