Year 2 News 02.10.26
Wow, the weeks are whizzing by!
This week has been a particular favourite as it was Harvest and messy church! On Wednesday, we welcomed our parents and carers into school to enjoy our messy church activities. We had great fun together, got creative and of course a little bit messy. As we took part in each activity, we had the opportunity to think about some of the things the Bible teaches us about God, his wonderful creation and caring for others. We used vegetables to make our own colourful artwork and celebrate the variety we see in God's creation. We created own scarecrow craft bags. Our scarecrows will help us think about how farmers care for their crops. We also really enjoyed making apple crumble using the apples which grow on our school grounds. Just some of the wonderful things we did. Thank you to all of the parents and carers who joined us to celebrate harvest in KS1.
In our English lessons, we have been writing more about our Herman’s letter book including using verbs to describe his journey and spent time to innovate parts of the story. We also planned our own narrative which we started to write on Friday.
In our maths learning, we have been focusing on partitioning. This has meant we have partitioning in standard and non-standard ways. Using dienes and part whole models has allowed us to learn very practically.
We have also enjoyed lessons in RE, computing, wellbeing, PSHE, Music, PE and Science.
Have a wonderful week!
Mrs Morris
