What a fantastic week of learning we’ve had!

In English, we wrote our own narratives based on Stay! by Alex Latimer. The children had great fun creating their own naughty pets and imagining all the mischief they might get up to. Their ideas were wonderfully imaginative and made for some very entertaining stories.

In Maths, we began our new unit on time. This week we focused on telling the time to o’clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to. The children worked really hard and are becoming more confident with reading clocks.

In PE, we continued developing our rounders skills and even enjoyed playing a short game at the end of the session. The children showed brilliant teamwork and sportsmanship.

In History, we learned more about the Great Fire of Nantwich, exploring how the fire started and what it might have been like to experience that day. The children also began writing a diary entry from the perspective of someone who lived through the fire.

In Science, we checked on our plant experiment. The seed with everything it needed is growing very nicely now, and we talked about the lifecycle of a seed and how plants change as they grow.

In RE, we continued our topic on the church and discussed why churches are special places for many people. We are all looking forward to our visit to the church next week.

In Computing, we continued to work on Chrome Music Lab — this time exploring the Kandinsky tool to create music from artwork. The children loved experimenting with shapes, colours and sounds.

In DT, we designed two possible ideas for our moving monsters and asked our friends to vote for their favourite. The children enjoyed sharing their designs and explaining their choices.

We have already received lots of bingo board homework, which is wonderful to see — great job, everyone.

Enjoy the bank holiday weekend, and we look forward to seeing the children back in school on Tuesday.
