Year 1 News 13th March 2026

Happy Friday Team! Year 1 have had a wild and wonderful week and we have been incredibly busy!

We have been working hard to finish writing our stories and the children have done a fantastic job using all the skills they have been practising in English. One of the highlights of our week was our roarsome trip to Chester Zoo! We saw so many amazing animals and loved listening to the animal talks. The children enjoyed learning lots of new and interesting facts about the animals we saw. Everyone was beautifully behaved and represented Wybunbury Delves so well. We also spent a morning learning cricket skills, where the children had great fun trying new activities and practising their throwing, catching and batting. As a part of Science Week, we explored food chains and thought about how animals depend on plants and other animals to survive. We talked about what different animals eat and how they are all connected. The children have also continued working hard on their puppets. After cutting them out last week, we carefully used glue and staples to fix them securely. We then started adding extra details to bring our puppets to life.

It has been a fantastic week full of learning, creativity and fun!
