Y4 Weekly News 19.06.26

Happy Friday, Year 4!

We’ve had another fantastic week of learning. One of our biggest wow moments was definitely seeing the results of our science egg experiment. We were amazed to discover that the vinegar had dissolved the eggshell, leaving behind only the soft membrane underneath. We were also surprised by how much the cola and coffee stained the eggs, helping us to understand the effect sugary and coloured drinks can have on our teeth. It certainly reinforced the importance of brushing our teeth well twice a day!

In Maths, we continued our Geometry unit. You learnt about regular and irregular polygons and explored lines of symmetry. Using this knowledge, you created some lovely symmetrical patterns with Numicon and showed great attention to detail.

In English, you started writing your portal narratives. It has been wonderful to see your speech punctuation developing and to read the impressive vocabulary choices you are beginning to use. Your stories are already showing lots of creativity and imagination.  Well done, team. 

Alongside this, you have also enjoyed lessons in History, French, RE, Music, PE, Computing, Geography, Wellbeing and Art. Another busy and successful week!
