Y4 Weekly News 10.07.26

Happy Friday, Year 4!

We've had another fantastic week of learning, and our biggest wow moment was definitely in Art. You continued creating your brilliant 3D food sculptures by covering them in Modroc. This involved dipping strips of plaster bandage into water before carefully smoothing them over your newspaper models to create a strong, solid surface. You all worked so carefully and patiently, and your sculptures are looking amazing. We can't wait to paint them next week and share the finished masterpieces with you!

Another highlight this week has been our RHE lessons. You approached them just like a science lesson, asking thoughtful questions, listening respectfully and learning lots about how our bodies change as we grow. I have been incredibly proud of how mature and sensible you have all been throughout these lessons.

In Maths, we finished our unit on measurement by learning how to convert between different metric units and using these skills to solve a range of problems. We have now started our new unit on time, where we've been learning how to convert between am and pm and digital time.

In English, you completed your persuasive writing pieces, and I have been so impressed by the fantastic writing you've produced. It has been wonderful to see you applying so many of the skills you've learnt this year to create persuasive, engaging pieces.

Alongside this, you've also enjoyed lessons in Music, PE, Computing, HeartSmart, Science, RE and History.
