Well, Year 6… what an adventure you’ve had!
We arrived at Robinwood Activity Centre on Monday mid-morning, got ourselves
settled into our dorms, and then headed straight off for lunch. And it’s a good
job we did because the activities came thick and fast after that, and we
definitely needed the energy!
We split into two groups and met our brilliant group leaders, Zach and RaRa, who
kept us busy (and smiling!) the whole time. Over the next few days, we worked
our way through a huge range of activities with plenty of snacks, both ours and
Robinwood’s, to keep us going.
Each evening finished with some great team challenges like Dragons’ Den and Higher
or Lower, which everyone got really stuck into. And of course, before bed,
there was the all-important hot chocolate and biscuits – definitely a
highlight! Our first night was a bit of a late one… but somehow, everyone still
managed to be up, dressed, and ready for a 7:30am breakfast on Tuesday!
Across the three fantastic days, we packed in so much – canoeing, high trapeze, high
ropes, crate challenge, night line, dungeon, climbing, piranha pool, quest,
caving, archery, giant swing and the zipwire. The best part was how close
everything was, meaning we could fit it all in and make the most of every
minute.
It was amazing to see how everyone worked together as a team, encouraging each other
and giving everything a go. There were definitely some challenges along the
way, but every single person rose to the occasion, and should feel incredibly
proud. I know I certainly am. Well done, Year 6!
We also spent lots of time together as a class, eating meals, taking part in
evening activities, and just enjoying each other’s company. There was never a
dull moment, and it was a brilliant way to burn off all that energy!
After a much better night’s sleep on the second night, we woke up feeling refreshed,
packed up our things, stripped our beds, and got ready to head home.
A huge thank you must go to Mrs Morris and Andy our caretaker, who gave up time with
their own families to support Year 6 on this trip. I honestly couldn’t have
done it without you. Thank you so much.
Year 6, I know you’ve made memories that will last a lifetime, and I couldn’t be
prouder of you all. What a fantastic way to end the term.
Wishing you all a very Happy Easter!
