Welcome to our school Reception!

Reception have been fully welcomed into our school family by their Year Six buddies during their special New Starter Service this week.

Our wonderful Year Six children led a beautiful worship all about our church school, Wybunbury Delves, and what it means to be part of our school family. Our focus was Matthew 5:14–16, which reminds us to “let our light shine.” We explored how our good works, our character, our behaviour and our actions can lead the way and be a light for others.

We spoke about our school aims and how we know that Jesus is the Light of the World. We also thought about how, as children, we can become leading lights in our community and in the wider world.

Our Year Six children spoke so beautifully about their roles and responsibilities as role models to our Reception children. They shared how they are there to help them settle into school, support them and share lots of special memories with them as they grow together.

I was so incredibly proud of our fantastic Year Six children and the beautiful way they spoke. They showed such kindness, confidence and maturity  and they were wonderful role models for our youngest children.

And without a doubt, I am incredibly proud of our Reception children too. It takes so much bravery and courage to stand up in front of an audience and perform but you all did it with such ease and confidence. You showed the whole school and your families just how beautifully you can sing and dance. It was a truly wonderful service that brought so much happiness, love and pride to everybody.

I would like to say a huge thank you to all of our families for taking time out of your busy day to come and watch your children in their Welcome Service. I hope it brought you lots of joy and gave you a very special moment to treasure.
