Welcome back Year 6 – 5.6.26

Welcome back Year 6 to your final half term at Wybunbury Delves. A half term that is jam-packed with projects, visits, transitions to your high schools and of course our leavers’ service.

We have continued with our Invisible Story writing unit and we are well underway with our paragraphs. We have up levelled our vocabulary by considering the context of our story and thought about emotive language to bring our pieces alive. Brilliant job Year 6.

We have focused our maths learning on revisiting some concepts we have already covered. I am ensuring my children are secure in different areas of our maths curriculum – this week we covered various fraction starters. We will continue to revisit other areas next week

We have now all changed our Big Cat reading books and I would like to ask for your support to ensure your children are reading their Big Cat books. We are aiming to finish our year on a high and thinking about being as high school ready as possible.

We have taken part in two PE lessons – one with Coach Beth and one with Thrive where we have thought about the stages of sprint.

In Music we have begun to think about our Leavers Service and which songs we want to include. We have begun to try a few out and will add more as we move through our term.

I think our stand out moment this week was in art. We created our stencils ready to use during our screen printing process. We thought about key images and strong phrases to bring about change.

In Science this week we completed our unit by learning about the Circulatory System. Stan the skeleton helped us to bring our learning alive.

We have enjoyed spending time with our buddies. We went into the reception class to engage in different activities.

Well Year 6, after a very busy first week. I would just like to say that I am super proud of all that you have achieved. You have worked so hard and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
