In English, we have been planning our ideas for our surival narrative, We started the week by writing about a dangerous threat and then spent time gathering ideas for our own narratives which we will write next week.
In maths, we have been learning about comparing, ordering decimals and adding and subtracting decimals using both mental strategies and written ones.
Our wow moment this week has been our final moss session. We loved exploring the moss again after our first intial visit in March. We were amazed to see how much it had changed in such a short space of time. We learnt all about the flora and fauna that take advantage of the moss at this time of year. Thank you Jenni and everyone at Natural England for giving us the opportunity to visit this amazing location!
Throughout the week, we have also enjoyed two PE lessons, DT, French, music, science, computing, a heartsmart PSHE lesson and RE. In PE, we have been developing our Athletics skills and taking part in our Amazen challenge to see how our skills have progressed. In DT this week, we created our DIY doodler kit and gave this to a friend to try out. We wrote feedback for our friend on what worked well and after receiving this feedback, we decided whether we would do antyhing differently next time. During French, we have learnt to tell someone how we travel to school. Computing has been based on a new unit of programming – we have learnt about conditions in our programmes. Science has also been new this week. We have learnt about classifying materials. Our Heartsmart focus this week was on our hearts welcoming feedback – we thought this was a very important message. Finally, RE this week allowed us to learn about Abigail and Deborah and why they were signifcant women in the Bible.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
