Well we have had another very busy week in preschool. On Wednesday we celebrated World Bee day, we looked at some bee keeping equipment, story books and non-fiction books, frames from a beehive and we tasted honey at snack time, we even took turns trying on some beekeepers protective clothing. Thank you to one of our parents for supplying all of these really interesting things.

We have also had a great time looking at all of the baby pictures you have brought in and put onto seesaw for us. The children have really enjoyed guessing who was who and looking at how much they have grown.

We have continued to look at length and height in our maths focus with the children comparing the lengths of beanstalks and then measuring lots of things in the out door area.

In literacy we have learnt the sound 't', we have been really impressed with how hard the children are trying in our short phonic sessions.

The children have also looked at day and night, thinking about the different things we do at different times of the day, they also listened to the story of ' Night Monkey Day Monkey'.

In our Heartsmart session we have talked about the things we do at home, how some are the same as our friends and some are different. We have also enjoyed the story of Simon Sock, who makes friends with someone who is a little different to himself.

We have been making the most of the lovely weather with the children spending lots of time outside, exploring and playing together.

On Friday we took part in out first sports day PE practice, which was lots of fun!

Our growing theme is coming to an end and next term we will be starting our final theme of 'mini beasts' when we will hopefully be joined by several different kinds of interesting creatures.
