We have had another lovely week in preschool this week. The children have settled nicely in to our rhythm and are getting along very well.

This week we have been enjoying more wonderful stories, reading 'The Bear Hunt', 'Rosie's Walk' and 'Peace at Last' as well as a selection from our favourite book basket. We would like to give a special thank you to the children who have brought in their favourite stories to share with their friends. We have really enjoyed reading them.

After listening to 'Shark in the Park' some of the children chose to make telescopes like Timothy Pope's, they then used them to spot some exciting things in the school grounds, including a helicopter flying overhead.

The children have continued to settle into our routines and have been working really hard to tidy the preschool at the end of the day.

Some of the children have made paper plate bear faces using paint, paper, glue and sticky eyes; working hard to remember all of the features on the face.

We have been developing our balance and strength moving in different ways in our Bear hunt yoga session. The children have also been working-out their fingers with our Rhyme of the week Tommy Thumb.

We have been looking at different amounts and quantities, with the children helping to count how many children and adults are in each day and we have also been using playdough to discuss who has more.

Next week we will be continuing to explore prepositions going on our own Bear hunt, over, under, and through the preschool garden and enjoying a bare foot walk to explore thick oozy mud.

Have a lovely weekend
