We're Going on a Bear Hunt!

What a busy and exciting week we've had at preschool! The children have loved joining in with our story adventures, songs, and activities, all while continuing to grow in confidence and independence.

Our story of the week was We're Going on a Bear Hunt, which quickly became a favourite. For our rhyme of the week, we learned Here is the Beehive--a brilliant counting rhyme that helped us practise numbers 1 to 5.

In maths, we explored counting in different ways: up to 5, and even backwards like astronauts--counting down from 5 to 1 before blasting off into space!

We've also been practising our self-control through our dance and freeze game, stopping and standing like statues when the music paused. To get our bodies ready for writing, we enjoyed a lively wiggle activity, moving our arms and shoulders up and down.

Outdoors, the children had a wonderful time building, cooking up recipes in the mud kitchen, playing with dinosaurs, and reaching up high to try and pick apples from our tree. Our stage area was alive with singing and music-making too!

On Wednesday we had a walk around the school grounds the children were very excited to see the plants growing in the school garden!

Indoors, favourite activities included zooming cars around the garage, digging in the sand, relaxing in the quiet area with books, maaking lists like Helen, and role-playing in the home corner--where plenty of picnics were enjoyed.
