Year 6 News of the Week – 30.6.23

What a strange week in Year 6. I have missed you all.

Our week has been focused on high school transition visits as children have headed off to experience their first days in their high schools. I am so proud of you all. We have chatted about their experiences and have enjoyed hearing all about their different days.

Before they all went their separate ways we welcomed Shavington High School into school to deliver a DT lesson. What a great afternoon. We designed and made plastic moulds using the high temperature melting machine (under supervision). The results were amazing!

We also managed to fit in a Theme Park maths lesson as we opened our parks with different A List celebrities. Next week we will trade them and find out who has the most profitable park.

In DT this week we enjoyed taste testing a product we are going to make. We sampled different types of bread and thought about its texture, appearance, taste and smell. A great way to spend a Friday morning.

We have used some of our time this week to work on our study work books. They are coming along nicely.

We enjoyed our first cricket session this week along with Sportscape PE and a PE lesson with Mrs Jenkins.

We are working hard with Miss Holland to perfect our Leavers Service songs. They are sounding just brilliant. We also enjoyed a French lesson too.

Thank you for all your bottle in a bag donations they will come in very handy on our Summer Lights event.
