And another week in year 3 is done! You have all worked so hard!
In English this week, you have learnt our first story in talk for writing. Lost in the Colosseum! Tranio and Livia definitely should have listened to Tranio’s dad. You also explored tricky vocabulary and how to punctuate direct speech with inverted commas.
In maths, you further explored numbers to 1,000 and plotted them on number lines! This was tricky but you did so well! Well done team!
In science this week you explored rocks and minerals. You used magnifying glasses and drew what each rock looked like using oil pastels to add texture and colour. As a challenge, you had to use a identification key to decide what rock it could be!
In history, you explored when the Romans invaded Britain and how it might have affected us today.
In RE, we explored what God means to us and wrote what we thought God was like using metaphors.
This week in music, we learnt how to hold the ukulele, and how and where to strum the strings. Having a good seating posture is important. The ukuleles are precious to us and so we need to be very careful with them.
This week we watched a mini clip of the film – ‘Inside Out.’ We learnt that being HeartSmart means we remember that we all have an inside that affects our outside. Living in a HeartSmart way is about being in touch with our inside (all of the emotions – not just joy) and thinking about how we can live, inside out. Bible Reference – ‘There is a time to cry and a time to laugh. There is a time to be sad and a time to dance.’ Ecclesiastes 3:4
Bonjour! Salut! What a fantastic French lesson you had this week!
In PE, you practiced dribbling the hockey ball from one hoop to another and made sure you held the hockey stick properly!
I hope you have a lovely weekend and I will see you all on Tuesday!
