What an amazing PE week!
Years 1, 2 and 3 finished our dance units.
We all started by warming up with several Just Dance routines linked to our topics, and a few fun extras! Our absolute favourite was Ghostbusters! We also learned the steps to some 'instructional' songs like the Cha Cha Slide, Follow The Leader and Superman! We followed with a dance challenge: We had five minutes to create a short routine using some of the dance moves we had learnt over the half term. We were allowed to add a few of our own signature moves too! Then we performed our routines for the rest of the class. We were brilliant!
Year 4 finished our gymnastics unit. We set up the big wall bars (we were super excited about this!) and also created a brilliant obstacle course using the boxes, benches and mats. We split the class in half so that we got chance to go on all of the equipment. We loved climbing, swinging, jumping and balancing on the apparatus and enjoyed transferring some of the skills we have learnt this half term onto the big wall bars!
Years 5 and 6 completed our Health Related Fitness unit. This week was all about fitness games! We warmed up first then moved around the various fitness games. We had Monopoly, Coin Flip, Trouble and Snakes and Ladders! All had a fitness twist to them involving many of the exercise skills we have been learning about. We had great fun challenging ourselves and our friends!
Another brilliant week, well done everyone!
Next half term we will begin our athletics unit. Hopefully, we will be on the field as much as possible, so please bring an extra layer and be ready to work outside!
Have a lovely, restful half term break.
