We have had an amazing response from across the whole school of DDay commermoration flags. This morning Reception and Year 1 took them all down to the village and placed them in readiness for tomorrow's important anniversary. It was lovely to see the flags bringing smiles and thank yous from around the village. Remembering D-Day and the Battle of Normandy: The D-Day landings of 6 June 1944 was the largest seaborne invasion in history. Along with the associated airborne operations, it marked the beginning of the liberation of France and western Europe. Remembrance is an opportunity to pause and reflect on giving thanks and honouring the memory of those who gave their lives to defend our democratic freedoms. We remember all those involved and give thanks for their heroism and commitment to peace acros Europe.
God blesses those who make peace.(Matthew 5:9)
