What another amazing week of home learning and only one more week until the Summer Holidays!
In our Maths lessons we have continued to learn more about decimals. We have learnt how to make decimals equal a whole and write decimals. To write decimals, we ensured we had a good understanding of ones, tenths and hundredths and recapped the value of each of these. When making a whole, we worked out what we would need to a decimals with tenths to make a whole and what to add to decimals which have hundredths to make a whole.
In our English lessons this week we have been focusing on developing our SPAG knowledge. We have explored word classes again this week. Learning the definition for each of the word types and then you created your own word class game. We also completed a reading comprehension task based on sound. At the end of the week, we recapped how to punctuate speech correctly.
As well as all of these tasks this week, you have also had some additional optional tasks. You were given a Maths challenge to design a paper aeroplane which could fly and you were asked to record your results. You were also asked to create a wordle of your Year 4 experience. I loved seeing the different words that you used within these! This week was also our virtual sports day – Sock Olympics. It was lovely to see many of you having a go and completing this fun sporting tasks!
Also this week, I was really lucky to see some of you in school. I feel so grateful to have had that time with you before we return to school in September. It was lovely to see you and hear all about what you have been up to at home. We played lots of games and had a great time together. For those of you who I didn't get to see, I can't wait for our rearranged session on Tuesday afternoon. I am keeping everything crossed for glorious weather.
I hope you all have a lovely final week of home learning!
