Y6 you are just superstars. There are no other words to describe how I feel about you all in these strange times we are living through at the moment. You bring a smile to my face, laughter every day, and you very often melt my heart with all the focus you put into all of my activities. You go above and beyond and you amaze me with the ideas you come up with. I am very proud of each and every one of you.
This week in Maths we took on the challenge of new learning. You smashed it Y6 and you have shown me great confidence in tackling the concept of mean in statistics. You have calculated the mean in a set of numbers and you have used this learning to understand reasoning problems too. Your presentation is always thought about and I thank you for that.
English this week has focused on this amazing moment in time, celebrating the 75th anniversary of VE Day. We have taken this opportunity to revisit our WW2 topic and remember our grandparents' tea party we had just before Christmas. I have thoroughly enjoyed looking back through our photos and seeing some of you in your presentations wearing the clothes you wore that day. You have researched important facts around this memorable day and presented them in many different ways. From role play, to different quizzes, fabulous colourful presentations and we even had a new phone APP too. I love them all!
You have also had the opportunity this week to prepare for your VE Day celebrations that have taken place at home, in your garden or even on your drive. You have been bakers, bunting makers and inventive designers. Well done to you all and thank you to your adults for supporting your wonderful ideas. We have even had some VE Day dog treats baked!
I hope you all have had a fabulous day of celebrations and enjoy your bank holiday too. Next week would have been our week to show off and that is what you would have definitely done. We don't need test results to prove that, that's for sure! I know how well you would have done and how far you have come and I know your parents do too.
I would just like to say thank you for all your kind wishes and support you always show me. You never know Y6 we may still have some time together!
