Science Week started with an extremely exciting event on the field this week! On Tuesday, the whole school gathered around the track (socially distanced of course) to witness quite an amazing sight...
A gigantic space weather balloon was floating high up in the sky in the middle of our school field. We listened to Phil (our expert science teacher for the day) tell us all about how the gas inside the balloon was helium and loved seeing the huge balloon move about in the wind! We learnt all about how these balloons can travel to the edge of space and we asked some fantastic questions too!
Later in the day, each class got to spend some time to closer explore the balloon – we even got to hold it!
What an exciting start to our Science Week 2021!
