Reception class remembrance

'Always to remember, never to forget '

Today we took time to remember those brave men and women who have fought in wars to keep nations and people safe. We listened to a short clip about Flanders field and how the poppies grew in the battle scarred landscape and how the poppy has become a symbol of Remembrance and hope, including hope for a positive future and a peaceful world.

We observed a two minute silence at eleven o clock, as we heard the old church tower bells chime the hour. We proudly stood and thought about those people who came home to tell their tales and those who sadly did not.

We finished with a song to remind ourselves to 'always remember, never to forget'
