We have been on yet another exciting journey this week.
In literacy, we learned the story of Pirate Tom, we have used our talk for writing actions to retell and recall the story of 'Pirate Tom'. Each day we have learned a new part of our story. I can't believe how quickly we have picked up this story, I have loved seeing your videos on Seesaw and I know Miss McCurrie has too- what great story tellers we are!
For our mathematics, we have been using positional language to describe where teddy is hiding and to describe how to manoeuvre around an obstacle course. We also had lots of fun drawing maps of our obstacle course.
To develop our understanding of the world, we learned about creatures that lurk beneath the sea. We enjoyed listening to the story 'Fidgety Fish'. Then, we identified some of the sea creatures in the story and discussed features that allow them to survive in an underwater habitat. Finally, we captured the ocean by creating our very own sensory bottles and we loved creating a jellyfish too.
We have been squiggling and wiggling with Libby all week to support and develop our fine and gross motor skills.
To support our communication and language development, we have enjoyed a story each day read by Libby or Ashleigh and answered questions. We were also very lucky to have a mystery reader this week, thank you to Zak's mummy for reading the story 'The best bit of daddy's day'.
Along with our learning tasks, we have completed small well-being tasks each day to support our personal, social and emotional development. These activities enabled us to think about how wonderful, unique and special we truly are... and we giggled a lot together too. Today we enjoyed a day of well-being tasks, it has been lovely to see you enjoy lots of fun, relaxing activities with your families.
This weeks adventure may be over but I am already very excited to begin a new one next week.
Have a wonderful weekend my Preschool crew – keep shining!
