PE News 9.7.21

What a great week of PE this week!
Years 1 & 2 continued our striking and fielding unit. We used the cricket bats, or tennis rackets if we found the bats too heavy, to balance balls and walk around with them staying on the bat. We also tried keepy uppies. We then became super strikers and worked on our batting skills by hitting the ball from a tee. Super job!
Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 wound up our cricket unit by working around skills stations. We had bat and ball balance races, followed by keepy uppies. We had a challenge to do keepy uppies but alternating between the bat face and edge. A really difficult skill which some of our talented children managed with ease! We also had stations for bowling/wicket keeping, precision bowling and batting accuracy. We followed up with a quick game of kwik cricket. Amazing work KS2!
In Sports Coaching's PE lesson the focus this week was boxing. There was some excellent glove and pad work! I wonder what the sport will be next week?
