Merry Christmas Reception Class

Reception class, what a fabulous final week of term we have had!

We have shared our wonderful retelling of 'The Nativity' with our families via Tapestry and the rest of the school as part of our worship this week. We have received some lovely comments about how much this was enjoyed and a real reminder of the true meaning of Christmas. Thank you.

We have also enjoyed a yummy Christmas dinner together. To help make it magical and special, we spent time to set the tables with table cloths, Christmas napkins and crackers. Hopefully we can all be helpful to our families on Christmas day with our recently developed table setting skills!!

Our Christmas party saw us enjoying a good old boogie and playing much loved traditional party games. The donkey was very relieved to get his tail pinned back on and almost in the right place!

We absolutely loved yesterday's pantomime 'Once upon a pantomime' especially when some of the characters who we have read about in 'The Jolly Postman' appeared in it.

In between all our merriment we have completed our studywork page for this term, building upon our prior learning on writing for different purposes and in different styles and applied it to writing up neat, our draft letters and postcards.

In our Heartsmart time we learnt all about how we are special by thinking about words from Twinkle Twinkle little star. As we sung this song we thought about how our friends are special too. We decided what it would be like if we were all the same and we all liked the same things. Did you know that snowflakes are all special too? We created our own snowflakes and found out that we are like snowflakes, all different in our own beautiful way.
