Happy summer year 5!

It has been a very busy final week in year 5. In our mornings, we have completed our maths learning covering some work in our time and statistics lessons. We have also spent some of our time to write up our wonderful writing in our author books. 

Our wow moment for this week has to be our DT learning. We had already enjoyed learning about gears but this week, we worked hard to improve them using a better template which helped the teeth to mesh together. We then learnt how to make a pulley. Combining both the gears and pulleys, we designed our own eco bike which would help someone to achieve a handy task around the house. The designs were fantastic and showed carefully considered annotations. 

We also had the privilege to watch the Y6 Leavers worship this week. What a way to end our school year. For our last day, we have also had time to reflect on our learning by looking through our books, playing games together, spending time outside and enjoying a film.

Mrs Pointon, Miss Holland and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the wonderful two years of memories. We have absolutely loved supporting you all on your learning journeys, watching you grow in confidence and skills and being able to have lots of fun moment alongside our important learning. You are an amazing class and we look forward to seeing you take on the role of our oldest children in year 6 next year and wish you all the best of luck! You should all be very proud of yourselves. We would also like to thank everyone for our very lovely gifts, cards, and thoughtful messages. Your kindness and generosity are greatly appreciated. We wish everyone a wonderful summer holiday— we look forward to seeing you in September!
