Happy Half Term Year 2

Wow Year 2 — I can’t believe our first half term together has already come to an end!

I have absolutely loved being your teacher this half term. You have worked so hard, made me smile every single day, and filled our classroom with kindness, curiosity and fun. I can’t wait for our next half term together.

In English, you finished writing your fantastic instructions on How to Make a Tasty Pet Treat. You used clear steps, bossy verbs and brilliant ideas — your pets would be very lucky to try them!

In Maths, you continued learning about positional language. You used words like forwards, backwards, left, right, above, below and between confidently to describe movement and position. Great job.

In History, you created brilliant comic strips to show what happened during the Great Fire of Nantwich and how Queen Elizabeth I helped the town afterwards. Your drawings and explanations were amazing.

In DT, you finished making your moving monsters — and they look incredible! You should be so proud of how carefully you designed and made them.

In Music, you composed your own pieces using Chrome Music Lab. Your music made us think of different animals — elephants, crocodiles, mice, kangaroos and more. You were so creative with rhythm and pitch.

Our highlight of the week was Sports Day. You were all amazing — full of energy, determination and brilliant sportsmanship. There were so many close 'photo�€'finish' races and lots of cheering for each other. It was a fantastic day.

We also enjoyed our Wellbeing, PSHE, Science and PE lessons, where you continued to show teamwork, enthusiasm and kindness.

And to top off the half term, our class worship was absolutely fantastic. You spoke so clearly, sang so beautifully, and made everyone watching feel incredibly proud. You showed confidence, teamwork and joy — it was the perfect way to end our half term together.
