Welcome to Year 1
Year 1 is taught by Mr. Dale and teaching and learning is supported in a morning by Mrs Van Russelt. Ruth is also with us all day to support learning.
Welcome back! I can't believe this is our last term together in Year 1, I'm sure this will be the best one yet! This term we will be learning all about the seaside, this will be very exciting topic with lots of new learning opportunities along the way! Our learning and topic will be supported by our class book; The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch, written by Ronda and David Armitage. Mr Grinling is a lighthouse keeper, his lighthouse is on a cliff across from his little white cottage. Mrs Grinling makes Mr. G's lunch everyday and she has to use the wire over the sea to send Mr. Grinling his lunch. But she encounters a few problems along the way, including 3 pesky seagulls, Will Mrs. Grinling think of a cunning way to get the lunch basket to Mr. Grinling or will poor Mr. Grinling go hungry?
P.E will be taught by SportsScape on a Wednesday afternoon, please ensure P.E kits are kept in school all week. Mrs Taylor will teach R.E on a Wednesday afternoon also.
Music and Geography will be taught by Mrs. Pointon on Thursday afternoons.
The holistic plan for this term can be found here.
Parent partnership slides are still available here.
Spellings and homework will still be given out on a Monday.
I hope you are looking forward to the topic ahead and I can't wait to start our new learning journey together!
All we need now is the sun! (fingers crossed)
