Within our team Mrs Pointon and Mrs Taylor teach children every morning and alternate to lead learning in the afternoons. Miss O'Neil also supports our teaching and learning throughout the day.
Summer Term 1 2017
This term we are learning about the wonderful world of Minibeasts. To start our learning we are going to be using the book titled 'Mad about Minibeasts,' which gives a great introduction into the vast world of Minibeasts, the creatures we share the world with.
Please see the following link with our learning intentions this term.
Spring Term 2 2017
We hope that you are all enjoying our new topic 'Up, Up and Away'. Our focus for this topic is things that fly, float or are already up in the air. We will be exploring balloons, bubbles, aeroplanes, rockets, kites and also forces which link to our focus for National Science Week.

Spring Term 2017
We are excited to embark on our new topic Dinosaurs, and our starting point is a story called 'The Dance of the Dinosaurs.' This story is about two children who go on a magical journey. Their journey takes them back in time to dance with a tyrannosaurus rex, a brontosaurus and a stegosaurus. We are going on our own journey to learn about Dinosaurs, their skeletons and what they like to eat. As a class we want to find out more about Dinosaur names and how they hunt for their food.
Welcome to our Dinosaur Den — our classroom environment is now being transformed into a Dinosaur Den. Huge dinosaur pictures, models and dinosaur footsteps adorn our walls and our garden is waiting for us to construct, create and conquer new steps in our learning journey.

If you have any resources, books or skills that you would like to share to enhance our learning this half term, please let one of the Reception team know.
I wonder where our learning adventure will take us...I hope it is going to be a exciting one!
Autumn Term 2016
To begin with, we will be focussing on the theme Houses and Homes.
'Home is where the heart is.' 'There is no place like home.'
We will be exploring these sayings to find out about each other and how we belong to our own families and our new school family at Wybunbury Delves. We will choose a selection of books that link to Houses and Homes and this will enable us to develop our interests in lots of different ways.
As a class we loved to create dens in our New Starter sessions so we will continue to think about how we can create dens and shelters in teams. Children will also be armed with cameras and have the opportunity to be photographers around school, interviewing new faces and asking how they help us.
We are very much looking forward to working with you in Reception. If there is anything you would like to know or ask, we would be happy to hear from you.
