A Warm Welcome to Reception!
Reception is taught by Mrs Taylor
Dear Parents and Children,
Welcome back, I hope you all had a lovely Easter break with your families and have recovered from eating all your yummy Easter chocolates and Easter eggs! I know you are excited to begin a new term with new learning, as am I.
This term our learning will focus on the theme of "Minibeasts." This will be literacy led learning, based on the popular books of Eric Carle: The Bad Tempered ladybird, The Hungry Caterpillar and The Very Busy Spider. We will also be exploring non — fiction books this term about minibeasts and butterfly life-cycles.
This term Mr Tibbetts from MMU will be joining us again with a selection of minibeasts for us to learn about and we will also have our own caterpillars in class for the children to observe as they grow, pupate and mature into butterflies. We will release these into the garden when they are ready, so they will hopefully begin the lifecycle again by laying eggs on our plant leaves. I have also booked a session with The Education Group for International Dance Day where we will learn some minibeast dance routines. Very exciting!
