Year 1 Class News 9.1.25

What a fantastic first week back we have had in Year 1 to start 2026!

We began the week with snowy adventures, and the children returned full of excitement, eager to share everything they had been up to over the Christmas holidays. It was lovely to hear their stories and see how confidently they spoke in front of their friends.

One of the highlights of the week was our very first Forest School session in Year 1. The children explored a range of animal skeletons and worked together to help build Spike the Hedgehog a brand-new home. We finished our session by toasting marshmallows around the fire – a very special treat!

Throughout the week, we have had a WILD time exploring animals across our learning. We have been:

Learning about different types of animals

Creating animal poems

Exploring flora and fauna through art

Going on an animal hunt (not finding much!)

Using BeeBots!

The children have shown fantastic curiosity, creativity and enthusiasm in everything they have done.

It has been a brilliant start back, and we can’t wait to see what exciting adventures next week will bring!
