It is the Government's requirement that all children, in all year groups, will return to school full-time from the beginning of the autumn term. The circumstances with the virus have changed. The prevalence of coronavirus (COVID-19) has decreased, the NHS Test and Trace system is up and running, and the Government guidance gives the measures that need to be in place to create safer environments within schools. The full Government document can be accessed here:
And they have updated their guidance for parents, it can be found here: What parents and carers need to know about return in the Autumn term.
The Government guidance states, 'Returning to school is vital for children's education and for their wellbeing. Time out of school is detrimental for children's cognitive and academic development, particularly for disadvantaged children. This impact can affect both current levels of learning and children's future ability to learn, and therefore we need to ensure all pupils can return to school sooner rather than later.
The risk to children themselves of becoming severely ill from coronavirus (COVID-19) is very low and there are negative health impacts of being out of school. We know that school is a vital point of contact for public health and safeguarding services that are critical to the wellbeing of children and families.'
Using the Government guidance, at Wybunbury Delves we are planning to reopen to ALL year groups from Wednesday 2nd September 2020.
On this page you will find the information we have sent out to parents about reopening and other documents which relate to September reopening.
