Year 2 is taught by Miss McCurrie and teaching and learning is supported by Mrs Parker.
I hope you have had a lovely Christmas break. I have enjoyed hearing all about your Christmas fun!
This term's learning will be based around the story 'Man on the Moon: A Day in the Life of Bob' by Simon Bartram and our learning theme of 'Space'. It is a funny story about Bob, who has a very important job of looking after the moon, keeping it clean and entertaining passing space tourists as well as giving guided tours. He knows everything about the moon and he knows that there is definitely no such thing as aliens! We will also be exploring other titles by Simon Bartram, including 'Bob's best ever friend' and short chapter books, like 'Clone Chaos' and 'The Disappearing Moon'. If you would like to purchase this book to read along at home, search 'Simon Bartram' on Amazon or The Book People.
Our classroom has been transformed ready for our learning all about space and planets and we have already been enjoying making our planets in our big art lessons. As always, we will be looking out for any other fantastic books we find along our way. If you have any space books you would like to share with us, please bring them in so we can enjoy them in class. There is also a fantastic website by NASA for kids. Please encourage your child to visit it and see what you can find out together. https://www.nasa.gov/kidsclub/index.html
This term's holistic plan will be uploaded shortly.
