Our children are regularly encouraged both to make their own music and to enjoy and appreciate that of other individuals, communities and cultures.
Our Year 4 class participate in Wider Opportunities music. They have a weekly whole class instrumental lesson. This year they have formed at brass band.
Our choir and Year 4 join nearly 7000 other children in performing as a massed choir at Young Voices each year. We thoroughly enjoy the experience of singing in such a large group and performing in a large arena.
We participate with singing projects with Love Music Trust (Cheshire East Music Hub). During 2019/20:
The school also encourages children to learn to play a musical instrument. A variety of instrumental tuition is offered by peripatetic teachers who visit the school. Parents are asked to contribute towards the cost of these lessons. We currently have children learning piano, keyboard, flute, violin, guitar and brass.
Opportunities are made for the children to share their musical experiences in assemblies, festivals, concerts and other celebrations.
