Youtube: Y3 Playing Place Value Games
In this week's practical maths lesson we played place value games!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oa_0MJn9dQ.11(
1) We had to either draw (with pictures), write (with words) or write (as a number) a random 3 digit number. We placed our boards down and then using our place value knowledge we had to follow instructions like 'find a number bigger than 500', 'find a number close to 750', 'find an odd number smaller than 432).
2) We then wrote down another random 3 digit number on our boards. If 'PAIRS' was shouted we had to quickly get into pairs and decide which number was the greatest by standing tall or crouching. It was a great way to quickly compare numbers.
3) Lastly, we had to write a number in words and then in our teams place ourselves along the number line from least to greatest!
Well done everybody,
Mr Dale
