Year 6 this week

Home » News » Year 6 this week

Wednesday to Friday we have been concentrating on reading, maths, geography and RE.
For Maths we have continue to work on place value and our reasoning skills. Some of us investigated how long it would take us to count to a billion — a least 30 years of continuous counting is needed! We have worked with negative number and numbers up into the tens of millions.
For geographical we have been comparing coastal maths, getting to grips with map symbols, identifying human and physical features on a map, and looking at how the landscape of the UK is very varied.
RE, this half term we are looking at What Christians believe about the kingdom of God. Today we thought about what values a kingdom would have it we were to create our own and we watched a Lego version of Matthew 13: 44-45, the Parable of the Hidden Treasure, to see what Jesus taught about the kingdom of God through this particular story.
All our excitement now shifts to next week....finally PGL has nearly arrived! Rest up this weekend! Looking forward to PGL next week.
