We've had a busy week back after half term!
In literacy we have started to look at argument texts. We have looked at the structure and language involved in putting forward a convincing argument. We have enjoyed arguing with each other — we played a game will generated topics for argument and had to stick to the For/against role we'd taken on. It was very interesting!
Maths has been focused around fractions — lots of language here — numerator, denominator, equivalent, lowest form, common factors/multiples, cancelling, improper, mixed to list some of the words we've used this week! We have investigated equivalent fractions and have been ordering fractions of different denominators.
We have begun to look at WW1 and in particular the casualties of war from Wybunbury. We have made cards for each of the soldiers whose names will be on the new memorial to be dedicated next Tuesday night at school.
We have continued with study work, finding out about coastal features. We have learnt about coastal erosion and how caves, arch, stacks and stumps are caused by undercutting.
A reminder that the changes to our homework timetable begin this week.
Hope you've had a good weekend
Mrs Chesters
