This week we have been enthused by the World Education Games — every free moment Year 6 have been asking to go on the computers and take part in the warm up (even lunch times!). I think they are determined to have a winner amongst them! Grace has already made it onto the maths hall of fame! Well done!
In literacy we have been looking at information texts and finding out about global warming. We have linked it to recent news — plastic bag laws and the car emissions.
Maths, we've focused on short and long multiplication. We found it much easier to multiply decimals using these methods.
On Monday afternoon we spent time with our buddies getting ready for next week's new starter service. They were great team to produce some mind maps and Year 6 worked well to keep Reception focused for the whole afternoon!
We have been continuing our geography work, learning about landscapes — next week we are going to focus on rivers in readiness for our visit.
Our fundraisers had great success with their first event today — I'll let them pass on the news about the day next week when they have counted the money raised.
Have a lovely weekend everyone
