Year 6 Maths Extravaganza
The end of the week Year 6 have been focused on Maths. We have been exploring, learning and reasoning about area, perimeter, volume, angles and even co-ordinates. We have lots of key facts to remember now!
Area of a triangle = 1/2 base x height
Area of a parallelogram = base x height
Area of a rectangle = length x width
Compound shape areas are found by splitting the shape into more usual shapes such as rectangles and triangles
Perimeter is found by adding up all the sides of a shape
Volume = length x width x height
Angles inside a triangle = 180 degrees
Angles inside a quadrilateral = 360 degrees
Angles around a point = 360 degrees
Angles on a straight line = 180 degrees
On a clock face each segment (between the numbers) = 30 degrees
CGP and My Maths homework have been set on these subjects.
We have also looked at 2 reasoning papers and a reading comprehension about Amelia Earheart
In RE this week we have focused on Islam and the 99 names of Allah.
What a busy few days we've had! Have a well-earned rest of the weekend. See you next week.
