Our first full first week together in school has flown on by!

We jumped straight back into our routine and our learning this week. I've been so impressed at your learning attitude, keep it up.

In maths we started our unit on place value. We looked at numbers all the way up to 1,000,000! We rounded to 10, 100, 1000 and 100,000, whilst also comparing and ordering those bigger numbers too! Well done, guys.

In English we used our class story, The Wind Singer, to create a descriptive piece of writing. We used paragraph planners to plan three descriptive paragraphs. We used the character of Bowman of our book to write in the third person. We described the outside of our Wind Singer tower first; creative vivid imagery through the use of descriptive language. We then moved inside our tower and described what we thought Bowman would see. Our final paragraph saw our character look out to the city of Aramanth, allowing children to use their descriptive devices to bring the city of Aramanth alive! We wrapped up all of our planning and on Thursday everybody wrote three fantastic paragraph full of description and wonder, well done to you all!

We started our music with the song "Living on a Prayer by Bon Jovi" and in R.E we discussed and acted out the story of "The Healing of the Paralysed Man"; linked to your big question of "How do Christians believe God speaks Good News to people through the life of Jesus". Check out our awesome acting skills on our YouTube channel! It will be uploaded soon...

Also a big well done to Jack who set up and ran his own chess club this week, awesome work Jack!

Have a great weekend,

Mr Dale
