I think it has been a fantastic week and having the sunshine for our John Muir session has topped it off beautifully — I hope you agree!

During today's John Muir session, we have been pond-dipping, bug hunting and making nature crowns. Water boatmen, shrimp and mosquito larva were just some of the things that you managed find in the pond water, and when bug hunting you caught meadow brown butterflies, eighteen-spotted ladybirds and many more. It was a great morning. For our afternoon, we finished off the rainforest biomes that we started yesterday.

You worked hard today and yesterday and now the classroom is filled with 16 mini rainforests (the tropical rainforest is a biome type). Each diorama (mini rainforest) really does look epic! To help create your dioramas, many of you brought in things from home which I would like to say a big thank you for; thank you for being so enthusiastic and continuing your learning at home.

Rainforests have also dominated our English lessons this week as we wrote a factual description about each layer of the rainforest. Did you know that there are four layers? The emergent, the canopy, the understory and the forest floor!

In French this week, we carried on with our conversations skills and learnt how to ask someone how they were, and the different ways that you can answer this. In R.E, we learnt about the differences between confirmation and baptisms and in Maths we learnt how to work out unknown angles without using a protractor.

Thanks for another great week everyone!

See you on Monday,

Miss P
