Year 5 News
Our week in Year 5 has been a busy one.
We have developed our Ravine descriptive writing in English, drafting and editing, ready to publish in our study work books. We have focused on building sentences, beginning in different ways and always thinking about creating a sinister atmosphere.
In Maths this week our focus has been on mental addition and subtraction strategies, we have looked for quick methods to solve calculations and word problems.
Our research skills have been put to the test this week in Science, we have begun our Biology unit, plants, how do they reproduce and grow?
Following on from our Science we have welcomed Jenni Tibbetts from Natural England today. She has worked with us to begin to complete our John Muir Award log books and will be back with us on the 29th January for a visit to the Moss.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend and maybe even enjoy some snow!
