In our English lessons, we jumped back into our topic and continued learning about Ancient Greece. This time, prominent people from the era were our focus — Alexander the Great in particular. We gathered information about the famous conquer on Monday and discovered some fascinating facts along the way. Did you know he never lost a single battle? Armed with this new knowledge, we created a timeline of his life. Both these tasks then helped write a biography of Alexander the Great.

Common Factors, Prime Numbers and Square Numbers were the focus of maths this week. This meant there was new vocabulary to learn and new ideas to process. During our lessons, we learnt that there are often patterns to be found within numbers which we used to help us solve maths investigations.

On Monday we split our afternoon into two sections. At the start we began a new study work page to document how we made our Ancient Greek Pots; we continued with this on Thursday too. During the second part of Monday afternoon, we continued with our R.E. topic of reincarnation where we investigated the different titles that Jesus is given during Christmas time. On Wednesday, it was the penultimate lesson of our space topic. We learnt about the moon and learnt that it doesn't have its own light sauce — it actually reflects the light of the sun. We discussed how the moon looks different during the month, and through a demonstration, we learnt why this happens. On Friday, we were visited by PC Nick who talked to us about Cyberbullying and how important it is to be safe and respectful online. After our talk, we got back into learning and worked hard to complete challenges on Code Studio.

Have a great weekend,

Miss P
