Year 4's last week of half term

Home » News » Year 4's last week of half term

It's all come about again! Another half term has finished and only one more to go in year 4, scary!

So let's tell you about our last week before the break, it's been a busy one.

In English this week, we have focused on creating sentences based on facts and then using these to inform our paragraphs. The tricky part was getting the sentences in the right order and using connectives to make them flow.

Maths this week has been all about fractions and decimals. We have focused on turning fractions into decimals and vice versa. Did you know there are many ways to represent fractions? Check out our number line and you will see what we mean. We have worked so hard to figure out all of this fractions and decimals business, that we were even ready to complete our end of unit challenge.

In the afternoons, we have been very busy bees. We have worked hard on our Tudor house powerpoint presentations, where we have added hyperlinks and animations to our slides. It's actually quite easy if you know how and we do in Year 4.

We've had a visit from PC Nick, who told us all about water safety ready for our holidays. We now know where we should be swimming and what we should do near water. A big thank you to PC for coming in to inform us all about the dangers of water and giving us tips to keep safe.

We have taken part in our KS2 sports day which was a lot of fun in the sun, for once! A huge congratulations to all of the teams and a big pat on the back for blue house, who were the overall winners this year.

Well, that's about it for this half term. I look forward to the next and final half term of year 4. Bring it on!

Have a wonderful break.

Miss Rushton
