It's Friday again and we have had another jam-packed week of learning.

In Literacy, we used our story as inspiration for some descriptive writing. In our descriptions we included personification, metaphors and similes. We also included a new literary feature: prepositional phrases. Can you remember what one is?

In Numeracy, we have been looking at the place value of tenths and hundredths. This knowledge then allowed us to acquire the skill of ordering decimals. We even linked this skill to nutrition and healthy living; we order the amount of sugar in different food products.

During the afternoons, we started our Computing unit for this term; in our first lesson we learnt about the importance of computational thinking (thinking logically) because without this our programs wont run effectively. Earlier in the week, in music, we were learning about Bill Withers and his song 'Lean On Me'. We also continued to investigate artefacts and teeth during our other afternoon lessons.

Hope you enjoy the bank holiday week,

Miss Pennance
