Year 4 news

This week in Year 4 we have been getting creative.

Throughout Art this week we have designed and constructed our own Diagon Alley shopfronts (this is still a work in progress). This has been used to inspire our English work for the week. Children have been looking at different examples of persuasive writing and had to apply their understanding by writing an email (during computing) to Mrs Casserley persuading her that our Diagon Alley shops were a good idea. We then moved on to designing our own posters for our shops and once these have been completed they will be display alongside our shops.

In Maths this week we have moved on to Addition and Subtraction. I cannot believe how hard Year 4 has worked on developing their understanding of 4-digit column addition with carrying. I am very proud of every single one of them!

Again this week, children have been practising for their young voices concert with Mrs Chesters. Our RE focus this week has been on the 'Feeding of the 5000' and our understanding of how miracles are portrayed in the bible.

It has been another lovely week and am excited to continue with our shops and study work next week!

Have a fantastic weekend.

Miss Welch
